The main hall is triangular, rather than a traditional rectilinear form. This building form enhances the function as a performing arts venue with superior acoustics and radial seating arrangement within.
The hall is positioned within a large quadrangle, surrounded by three existing school buildings. The northern face of the 'triangle' presents itself directly towards the main approach to the building. The second face opens out towards an existing slope in the topography which is used for tiered seating.
The dramatic colours and forms beaming across the soffit and wall surfaces embody the energy being generated by the performers on stage.
With the main hall as the centrepiece, other functions are housed in the wings of the hall. Such as music rooms, recording studio, drama studio and break-out spaces used for outdoor learning and impromptu soap-box performances.
The building is highly adaptable with operable walls and flexible learning spaces.
