We help every student shine!
At St John XXIII, we believe it is important for students to pursue interests to find what they are passionate about. We give them exposure to a range of exciting opportunities to unlock their creative potential, develop a talent or follow a passion.
We help every student shine!

Creative and Performing Arts
St John XXIII students are encouraged to explore their passions and talents. We have a range of opportunities available for students to participate in creative and performing arts activities and programs such as assemblies, carols nights and eisteddfods.
The College has many different student ensembles, bands and duos, including our music ministry team. Our students perform at assemblies and Battle of the Bands and our Year 12 students showcase their talents at the HSC Major Works and performance evenings.
We are especially proud of our student’s visual arts talents, and offer many opportunities to enter school and community art competitions.
CAPTIVATE, Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese's creative and performing arts program provides our students with amazing opportunities to grow their talents alongside students from across Sydney.

- cross country, swimming and athletics carnivals
- Motiv8 sports
- diocesan gala days for soccer, rugby, basketball and touch football
- staff vs. student cricket games
- lifesaving and swimming skills
Representative pathways are also available through the Parramatta Diocesan Secondary Sports Council.

Social Justice
Our students are offered a wide variety of local community activities to help develop a sense of pride, respect and responsibility for themselves and others. This positive participation and actions can be seen in how we interact and learn with one another, work collaboratively and take ownership of our behaviour as well as active involvement in faith-based experiences.
In recent years, students have participated in outreach and fundraising for the following organisations:
- Caritas/Project Compassion
- Vinnies Van, Winter and Christmas Appeal
- Catholic Mission
- Clean Up Australia Day.

Developing global citizens
Our students can embark on an opportunity of a lifetime with our school cultural immersion in Samoa. They also connect with secondary colleges in Japan, Singapore, China and Hong Kong to share language, arts and cultural experiences.

Excursions, Camps and Retreats
Every student loves to get out of the classroom and explore.
Our students benefit greatly from school trips where they are able to observe new things not available at school such as rare and exotic wildlife and plants, different cultures and the stories of our history. These experiences lead to deeper understanding of learning subjects.
Camps and retreats are also wonderful opportunities for students to develop independence, grow in faith, form strong friendships and make life-long memories!
The following are some other extra-curricular activities that may be offered at St John XXIII.
