Our history

Inspired by the wisdom of Pope John XXIII, our school has become a flagship of Catholic educational excellence.

Our college was established in 2005 on the historic Perfection Dairy site.

The first classes were taught in five demountable buildings off a dirt track from Bentwood Terrace, Stanhope Gardens. With just over 80 students, we taught Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 classes.

St John XXIII College grew quickly. In 2007, we enrolled our inaugural Year 7 cohort of 68 students. Our secondary school was originally known as St Mark’s Catholic College.

Over the years, we have fully developed our learning facilities to support our agile and contemporary approach to education. Our performance hub, hospitality suite, recording studios, and technology spaces are just some of the facilities that provide rich and energetic learning experiences.

In 2022, our primary and secondary Catholic learning community officially united to become St John XXIII Catholic College. Today, we enrol nearly 2,000 students, and we look forward to the future with faith and confidence.
